I have been able to find out very little about QAnon and unlike much of the media I’m not going to pretend that I know what it is all about. While I have no idea who QAnon is, I think that the claim that QAnon comes from a National Security source is at least plausible.

From what I can gather from the posts and videos I have viewed, QAnon is concerned about pedophilia and satanic practices and they claim that these practices are widespread within international elites in Politics, Culture, Business and even Religion. They believe that their is an international secretive interlocking cult of high-level Satanists who sex traffic children. They point to Jeffrey Epstein and his pedophile island, with its international connections and its interface with intelligence agencies as possibly the tip of the iceberg. They claim that in 2016 a pedophile ring was operating at a pizza parlor in Washington D.C. and that several big-name Democrats were involved. They point to the 2016 assassination of a Democratic Party employee who had access to computer data that might have been damaging to the 2016 Democratic Party ticket as part of a conspiracy.

It seems to me that all of these claims are worthy of a dispassionate and thorough investigation, one that seeks to get at the truth and one that is free of rancor. Where QAnon goes off the rails, in my opinion, is when they claim that children are being raped, terrorized and murdered by these elites who then drink their blood. I don’t believe that this is likely, but, anything is possible, and even this outlandish charge, likewise, deserves dispassionate investigation and the presentation of evidence.

The Anti-Defamation League is in a state of high alert over QAnon for reasons that don’t seem to be apparent. I would assume that they believe that there is something anti-Semitic about QAnon but I haven’t seen any evidence of this. Perhaps they equate the claims regarding the murder of children and the blood rituals as a revival of the false medieval conspiracy theory that the Jews engaged in these practices, what is known as the blood libel. While I would agree that the two should not be linked in any way, and while I appreciate the sensitivity around this issue, I haven’t seen evidence that QAnon makes this linkage. If such linkage exists, please bring this to my attention at charlesmoscowitz@gmail.com and I will factor it in.
